Update on power outages

Just wanted to update everyone on the crazy situations happening across the country. If you didn’t believe my “final” warning, or the warning I put in the latest news, you might be hurting right now. Over 200,000 people in Northern California have been forced to evacuate. If you had two minutes to grab your stuff and go, would you be ready? I hope those 200,000 people had evacuation packs ready to go for themselves and their children. Who knows when they will be able to go home, and if there will be a home to return to.

In other news, New Orleans got hit by Tropical Storm Olga, and things got ugly. People probably assumed that since it wasn’t a hurricane it wouldn’t be that bad. But that just goes to show you that surprises can always happen. The only way to be ready is to prepare NOW, before something happens.

New Orleans Gets Hit…Again

More than 60,000 people lost power due to Olga, and many more have sustained damage. Even the New Orleans airport had power go down…TWICE.

California Shutting Off Power…Again

As I warned, high winds would come again, and power would be shut off again. I know I am probably coming off as pompous and arrogant, but I just want to drive home my point – you need to be prepared for these things. Not next week, not tomorrow, but today, right now. Start taking steps. The winds driving the wildfire and necessitating the power cuts are near hurricane force. Unfortunately the water/rain part of the hurricane isn’t there with the winds to help fight the fires.

Quick Sum Up – Build an Emergency Kit Already!

Unfortunately this just continues to reinforce what I have been saying, over and over again. You never know when it is coming, but all across America we are experiencing power outages and disasters that we need to be prepared for. Take the time to build a emergency kit now, and don’t forget about making your evacuation pack! You won’t regret having them.
